Information is Power, but one thing that rings in every situation whether in business or religion. Knowledge is Power... Correct knowledge is more Powerful! CHOICEZ IS FOR GIFT GIVING!
CHOICEZ IS FOR GIFT GIVING
Birthdays, holidays, graduations and other special occasions...
Sometimes it’s hard to select just the right book to give as a gift. You never really know what a person’s interests are, and what kind of books they like to read.
But some people really like books that touch them emotionally in some way. They enjoy a book that reaches off the pages and into their hearts. CHOICEZ is your selection. It encourages us to make changes in our lives and our careers.
CHOICEZ is a motivational book that will help you to learn to make better choices much earlier. It is a coffee table book with great photos. It has a long shelf life. It is sized to fit everyone. It will not go out of style. It doesn’t contain calories or trans-fat.

Mike Dennis Honored on CNN
The WINNER!
It's official! Reelblack's latest short film production, THE 13TH AMENDMENT was recently awarded the Grand Jury Prize for the first ever CNN IREPORT FILM FESTIVAL. Mike said he chose the title to remind folks that there wasn't always a time when all Americans had the right of freedom. One of our greatest privileges is the Right To Vote. Please Vote on November 4.
IReport is CNN's user-generated video blog. The 13th Amendment was chosen among hundreds of submissions dealing with this year's election submitted from around the world. Grand Prize is a trip for two to his 2009 Presidential Inauguration and a hi-def video camera.
CONGRATULATIONS MIKE!
From one Philly independant filmmaker to another. At the most important time in history, you documented a Reel moment in history, as your 90 year old grandmother, Helen went to vote for Barack Obama. What a powerful 5 minutes!

MOTIVATIONAL STORY!
CHOICEZ
How They Impact Our Lives
by Aginah Carter-Shabazz
CHOICEZ is the riveting story of Aginah Carter-Shabazz, one of Philadelphia's most prominent cosmetologists who learned the hard way about the high cost of pursuing the "fabulous" life. The moving memoir reveals lessons learned about the price women pay for love and making their man’s choices their own.
Aginah masterfully weaves readers along her journey, revealing her poor choices and how they impact her life. Throughout the memoir, Aginah learns and grows, but the lessons of her poor choices don’t fully take hold until she reaches middle-age. Will CHOICEZ assist readers with removing the layers of programming and conditioning that is needed for women to make better choices? “Every choice has a consequence.” http://www.youtube.com/thebookchoicez * http://www.thebookchoicez.com

Aginah Carter-Shabazz was born on Mothers’ day in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on May 13, 1950 to Donald and Elizabeth Glenn-Carter. She began her professional career in 1978 as a “sleuth” who was bound and determined to uncover the mysteries of having beautiful hair "working from the inside out." Aginah opened several hair salons complete with her own line of Aginah’s Herbal Hair Products in Philadelphia. She has served her loyal clients for over three decades. Ms. Aginah’s entrepreneurial thinking has taken her creativity to a whole new dimension. In 2003, Aginah was inspired to direct and produce Justice For Her, an award winning documentary following her daughter’s arrest, trial and acquittal in a capital punishment case. This documentary reveals that the choices women make bring consequences never imagined in their wildest dreams. http://myspace/justiceforher.org
Aginah Carter-Shabazz has received a large amount of press over the years. She has received numerous leadership awards, including the State Treasurer’s Award to African-American Female Entrepreneurs in recognition of her contribution to society and the West Philadelphia Economic Development Award. In a fitting tribute to her personal triumph and her professional achievement, Ms. Aginah was awarded the 1996 Madam C.J. Walker Award by the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., placing her among the nations' outstanding African-American women who walked in the path of an African-American icon. http://.Aginah.com
SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS
Ms. Aginah does speaking tours and has addressed audiences, including adults, youth and families, at Department of Human Services, International League of Muslim Women, Black Women’s Educators Alliance, churches, community centers, book stores, prisons and schools. Based on her experience, Ms. Aginah conveys the myriad of ways that we can all make better choices. “CHOICEZ will help you remove the layers of programming, conditioning, and limiting beliefs that can suffocate your spirit; teach you how to experience free-ness in your mind, how to affect your ability to manifest and attract what you desire; and how stepping into your full woman-ness or man-ness positively affects your love relationships with spouses, friends, and loved ones.” –Aginah Carter-Shabazz.

Thank you to the Red Hatters Book Club!!
Yesterday the booksigning in Northeast Philadelphia with "Somali Rose Red Hatters" book club hosted by the lovely Eleanor Johnson was awesome. The event started off with a humongous home cooked food buffet and bar-b-que. Jerk chicken, fried fish, corn on the cob, string beans, potato salad, turkey turnovers, pasta salad, BBQ beef and turkey burgers, home made peach cobbler and lots more. We have to mention these things because Eleanor and the ladies "put their foot in it" as they say.
After eating to our hearts content, it was time for the main presentation. Aginah spoke to the book club about her book "CHOICEZ, How They Impact Our Lives" and then screened the documentary "Justice for Her" based on the true events that happened to her daughter Yonzetta "Nas" Hudson.
This was truly an evening to remember. It was more than a booksigning. We bonded as women and shared our stories about making better choices....And that's what its all about.

Aginah's Healthy Hair Tips: TUNGUSKA BLAST!
Feel, and Live Healthier!
http://Aginah.tblast.com
As you know, the quality of your blood, which feeds your hair, depends on your nutrition. Your crowning glory is largely attributed to the condition of your hair which, because of its fragile nature and constant exposure to poor circulation, medication, poor diet, menopause, stress factors, chlorine, sun, and tight braids damage, it deserves special care and attention.
TUNGUSKA BLAST is a powerful botanical formula that provides nutrition as unique and significant as increasing circulation in the scalp and stimulating hair growth. “Drinking just an ounce a day.” You wouldn't believe the results.
Take this test for yourself. The proof is in the pudding, Right? Look at your hair closely in the mirror. Touch it! If it looks and feels dry, brittle or damaged, and/or experiencing thinning and balding, your hair needs to be fed and nourished, not with junk food products, but with real health-giving food; found in this eye catching bottle bearing the name TUNGUSKA BLAST! http://Aginah.tblast.com

Aginah Shares a Special Recipe!
This month is the first launching of the Blog. Some of you are sistahfriends/sistahclients and have been close to my heart for over thirty years and longer. I can’t believe in that time I produced a documentary and authored the book "CHOICEZ" all while still doing hair. Time doesn’t wait for no one. I’m having fun sharing with you all!
Summer is here and it’s HOT!!!, so pour yourself a cold glass of lemonade, turn down the AC and relax with a good book “CHOICEZ”.
Here’s a little something a friend shared with me:
Recipe for "Bringing Closer to What I Want Ingredients":
1 cup of make peace with your past choices
2 cups Stress
1 1/2 teaspoons of no more Guilt
2 heaping cups of making better choices
3/4 tablespoon of Urgency
A dash of “me first”
3 heaping cups of Faith
Directions:
Fold ingredients gently into a bowl. Mix vigorously and add a few tears. You’ll sweat a little as you knead the dough. Pack it firmly between your hopes and dreams and form into a perfect little ball. Sprinkle it with a little faith, rolling the ball in the flour until fully covered. Place it under a veil of belief and allow it to rise. Put it in an oven that has been pre-set at the perfect temperature for the heat of trials and tribulations. Allow it to brown under the warmth of closing the door to the past choices. Remove to see the brighter future and allow to cool in the confidence of making better choices. Garnish with glory to the creator. Arrange neatly on a platter of thankfulness and serve to friends, families and, oh don’t forget the men . . . invite them too!
"Every choice has a consequence."
Author & filmmaker,
Aginah Carter-Shabazz
