2. Bring a pan of water to a boil, hold your head over the pan and drape a towel over your head to allow the rose vinegar-enhanced steam to open pores and loosen the dirt or soak a clean warm wash cloth in rose vinegar and lay over the face for five minutes, each time redipping the washcloth to reapply. HOME CHOICEZ

When our Sistahs are raised up, the victories will be all of Ours... for A Nation Can Rise No Higher Than Its Women.

Sisterfriends!

I wanted to let you know about the new phase in our work with Team CHOICEZ. As you know we have been speaking at colleges and in high schools, recovery centers and holding workshops in prisons for men and women in the Philadelphia area. We also volunteered our services for a pilot program at Martin Luther King High School for at risk girls. I am grateful and blessed for these experiences as I see women, men, and young people look at life’s possibilities.
Recently, I took yet another step in my personal commitment to help women learn to realize there are choices. I own a home in Germantown and I have opened it up to women who are from shelters, group homes, recovery programs and/or homeless.

Most of these women have only enough money to pay the nominal rent for their room which is furnished with a double bed, dresser & mirror. They share the bathroom & kitchen, living room and dining room. It’s a very nice home, and I feel that the women are comfortable and safe.

I have set up certain “house rules” that prohibit stealing, smoking, profanity, alcohol or drugs, illicit music and fighting. The biggest rule, however, is to love self, be respectful towards themselves, me and others. Yes I’m the big sister who genuinely cares. I'm working closely with them to teach them how to cook, clean, prepare a sit down Sunday dinner to eat together as family and, of course, the CHOICEZ team is working with them to help the women learn how to make the right choice.

This is not a nonprofit effort. Team CHOICEZ does not have a 501 (c) 3. It is a personal commitment on our part to make a difference. Those of you who know me know that my heart is in this effort, and so, I am coming to you with a request.

There are still many items that we need in order to keep the house clean and make it more enjoyable for the women living there. Supplies like paper towels, toilet tissue, cleaning supplies, sheets & pillow cases, towels, and wash cloths are some of the items we need. Basically anything that will help them keep things clean and livable – dish washing liquid, etc.

For anyone who donates paper items or gift cards, I am offering a 10% discount on any hair service. If you’re sharing this information with someone who does not know my background, Please visit www.Aginah.com for your and their information.

Many women’s lives will be positively affected by your most generous contribution. Thank you, and may you reap one hundredfold the goodness that you sow. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me.

In grateful appreciation,

Aginah

FUNDRAISER FOR KATHY

Dear Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.,

I am writing to ask for your help, to be a part of a very special fundraising effort for a dear friend and your sorority sister, Kathryn Boyd-Green (known lovingly as Kathy). Some of you may not have been in contact with Kathy recently, and on her behalf, I would like to let you know how she’s doing.

Kathy was inducted into the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc Chapter Gamma Iota at Hampton University in March 1980. At the age of 33, she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) by John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. Kathy was misdiagnosed for several years before her condition was confirmed; however, the correct diagnosis revealed that Kathy has the worst type of MS - chronic progressive - meaning that her disease will continue to worsen with no chance of remission.

Now 49 years old, Kathy has gone from walking with one cane, to two canes, to a walker, to a scooter and finally to a motorized wheelchair. She has no physical mobility today, and, as a result, needs 24 hour home care, seven days a week, and she is totally limited in her life.

Kathy majored in Accounting and was employed as an Accountant and Mortgage Broker until her condition forced her to stop working. She is blessed with a daughter, Whitney, who was born when Kathy was 27. It was shortly after her daughter’s birth that Kathy began to show symptoms of MS. Today, Kathy is proud of Whitney who at 23 is a top medical student at John Hopkins Medical School in Baltimore, Maryland.

Our goal is to raise $50,000 to purchase a motorized wheelchair accessible van so that Kathy can meet critical transportation needs. Kathy’s current source of transportation only takes her to the doctor. Kathy’s physical condition has worsened, but her spirit hasn't changed. She is in dire need of socialization outside the home. She is unable to attend family gatherings and is very saddened by this. She expressed the desire to get outside and be out among people. She is still the woman we all know, love and respect. I am asking you to please make a contribution, no matter the amount so that we can give Kathy the transportation she needs.

You can donate by visiting this link https://paypal.com ,click send money then type in email address: Kathyboydgreen@yahoo.com or make a direct deposit into Kathy Boyd-Green bank account number 1267558 at the Sterling Bank, 1006 Kresson Road, Voorhees, N.J. 08043. Kathy gave Aginah permission to accept checks on her behalf made payable to Kathy Boyd-Green at Aginah Hair Design 215.878.1227.

Thank you, and may you reap one hundredfold the goodness that you sow. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me.

Warmest Regards,

Her Stylist, Aginah Carter-Shabazz
