As guests munched they participated in a book signing for CHOICEZ, the true story of Aginah Carter-Shabazz, a woman who lived a life of glamour and violence, but her poor choices doesn't fully take hold until as a woman well into her forties. The moving memoir reveals lessons learned about the price women pay for making their man's choices their own. Aginah masterfully weaves readers along her journey.

During the Q and A, several people expressed their support in bringing such a powerful film to the audience. “This is a message that every young person must see,” said one person who stood to make a comment. “This is a film that should be required to be seen by teens in schools,” said another person.

Justice for Her details how the choices Yonzetta “Nas” Hudson made with men, money and materialism, made her vulnerable to the predatory tactics of the Philadelphia criminal justice system. The system stalked, entrapped and charged Nas with capital murder, for a crime she neither committed nor orchestrated. Facing the death penalty Nas cried out for justice. Aginah Carter-Shabazz heard the cries of her daughter and worked effortlessly to free her. Aginah’s action sent shockwaves through her family, the community and ultimately through the halls of the criminal justice system.

Featuring sociologist Carla Shedd, Ph.D., Rosa K. Lewis Ph.D., pre-eminent defense attorney Tariq El-Shabazz and Aginah Carter-Shabazz herself.
